This is something that dealerships will obviously do to get attention from readers in the news paper. But how do they get away with it?

If you look closely at the ad, you should see a "Stock Number" somewhere relatively close to the ad for the car. This is going to be the stock number of the car that the price advertised is referring to.
Now, the problem is when you call the dealership in reference to the ad, they are going to lie to you and tell you that they have the car... just so you come in.
Then, you'll get there to find out "someone just sold it."
If you want to save yourself the time, frustration, and embarassment of dealing with this annoying trick dealerships will try to pull, simply call and ask if they have that Stock Number in stock. Don't even reference the ad until you get into the dealership.
